Canary: check e-invoices before posting and payment

Canary is zappmedia’s free browser tool for checking electronic invoices. It compares ZUGFeRD and Factur-X PDFs with embedded XML and checks standalone CII and UBL invoice XML, including XRechnung.

Technical validation, PDF/XML comparison and optional AI mapping highlight differences in recognised or derived data, such as IBANs, amounts and taxes. Multiple invoices can be checked together, and invoice XML can also be converted into a ZUGFeRD/Factur-X PDF.

The tool requires no registration. Published information states that processing takes place on a server in Germany and uploaded files are deleted automatically within 15 minutes. An unremarkable result does not replace professional invoice review.

ISO 9001 recertification

The recertification audit is successfully completed. The certificate issued then was valid until April 2024.

Digital workflows during the coronavirus crisis

In March 2020, zappmedia reports continued work on client projects. Processes digitised over several years and decentralised, redundant infrastructure support communication, project management and data transfer.

Relaunch of zappmedia.com

The English website is relaunched with a focus on audio services and media localization.

Successful ISO 9001 recertification

Quality management is recertified to ISO 9001:2015. The certificate issued then was valid until April 2021.

New website and encrypted connections

The website is redesigned for easier use and mobile devices. The announcement describes extending encrypted connections from website visits through delivery and correspondence.

Recertification extends the scope to audio language production. The certificate issued then was valid until April 2018.

zappmedia in ARD radio advertising

Commercials on selected ARD radio stations introduce the expanded audio service. The announcement documents the start of this form of client communication.

DIN EN 15038 as historical quality evidence

The announcement records certification against the translation standard DIN EN 15038 used at the time. The historical OTM evidence from 2011 remains available on the quality page, separately from the current ISO 9001 certificate.

zappmedia joins the Quality Translation Network. The announcement describes using the network’s quality-assurance tools.

Quality and information security recertification

DQS carries out a recertification audit from 1 to 3 April. The ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 evidence published then was valid until April 2012; current quality and security information is on the quality page.

15 years of zappmedia

The company celebrates 15 years of translation and localization services.

Online project management in client use

The announcement describes OTM for small and large multilingual projects: project visibility, TLS-encrypted exchange, documentation, correspondence and browser access. It reports more than 400 clients using the free client tool at that time.

Initial quality and information security certification

The announcement reports ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 for translation and typesetting services. Regular audits and systematic evaluation of client satisfaction form part of the described management approach. ISO 9001 quality management has accompanied zappmedia since 2006.

“Facts about Germany” and the English website

Between June and October, the German government brochure is translated into several languages, with typesetting for Asian versions. zappmedia.com launches in June. In April of the same year, zappmedia celebrates its tenth anniversary.

Samsung Mobile and the zappmedia name

zappmedia localizes the Samsung Fun Club website into several languages. In September, zapp medien becomes zappmedia. In June, the company supports naiin e.V. with an English website translation; in May, it receives the German localization assignment for VeriSign’s website.

Move to the former Berlin-Wilmersdorf premises

In April 2001, zapp medien moved to Prinzregentenstraße 40 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, its company address at the time.
