We adapt technical preparation to the content, format and intended use. Our team continues to develop its linguistic, organisational and technical skills.

CAT systems assist translators with stored translations, terminology and validation messages. Depending on the project, local workstations or shared server environments may be suitable. Teams can share updated terms and approved segments and coordinate questions. Team size depends on volume, deadlines and coordination needs; adding people does not automatically shorten a project.

Project environments include tools such as Trados Studio, memoQ, Phrase TMS (formerly Memsource), Déjà Vu, Across, Wordfast and OmegaT, as well as Passolo and Poedit for software text. Agreed formats and workflows determine the choice. Customer translation memories and glossaries are used confidentially for the relevant project. Tools such as ApSIC Xbench can supplement linguistic review with technical checks.

SQL exports, software resources and structured content need suitable filters. Parsing and conversion expose translatable text while protecting code, tags and variables. After import, we check the agreed technical criteria. Interfaces to customer systems and project-specific utilities can simplify recurring tasks.

CAT and machine translation perform different roles and can be combined. Pretranslation, validation rules and data handovers can be supported by technology; meaning, audience and subject suitability still require judgement.
