Technical expertise
Our technical translators specialise in particular technologies and document types, with years of experience serving industrial clients. We cover more than 50 technical fields – from mechanical and automotive engineering, environmental technology and construction to semiconductors, biotechnology and IT.
We distinguish factual, terminology-heavy documentation from technical marketing copy. Subject, text type and purpose jointly determine our choice of specialists. For urgent or large projects, we assemble suitable teams; multiple languages can be processed in parallel and delivered to a coordinated schedule.
Good to know
Terminology, updates, file formats and confidentiality are part of the project. Find the full information here.
Mechanical engineering and software often involve extensive documentation, many versions and short update cycles. Dedicated project teams support document series over time and handle additions and subsequent versions consistently.
CAT tools, translation memory and agreed terminology support reuse of translated content. We take existing translations, glossaries and editorial requirements into account. Ambiguities in the source are resolved before production.
From our Berlin base, we work with more than 3,000 qualified translators worldwide. Our translators are native speakers of the respective target language.
Their profiles record subject areas, qualifications and skills. We select specialists against the actual requirements, including style, document type and audience.
Our quality management has been ISO 9001-certified since 2006 and is audited by TÜV. Our information security management conforms to ISO 27001.
Experienced project managers prepare the texts, coordinate schedules and quality checks, and remain your personal contacts.
We handle common text, spreadsheet, presentation and web formats, including DOC/DOCX, RTF, PDF, PPT/PPTX, XLS/XLSX, HTML and XML. Printed source material is also possible. We agree the delivery format with you.
The enquiry form supports TLS-encrypted uploads of up to ten files: a maximum of 25 MB per file and 100 MB in total. Accepted formats are listed beside the upload field. Archives such as ZIP or SIT and executable files cannot be uploaded there. For other formats or larger amounts of data, we agree a suitable transfer method with you. Layout work, OCR and code filtering are taken into account when quoting.
Client data is available only to staff directly involved in your project. Strictly confidential data is marked “classified”. Individual written confidentiality agreements are available on request.
Files are stored securely and redundantly in our OTM project management system. Servers are located in Germany.
Alongside technical documentation, we translate content for industry, commerce, business, law, science and finance: contracts, patent documents, certificates, correspondence, marketing and PR materials.
For websites and CMS content, we take the publishing process into account. For search-optimised content and voice-over scripts, we agree the audience, format and intended use. Requirements for certified or officially attested translations are assessed against your particular enquiry.
Turnaround depends on volume, language pair and requirements. Smaller projects can be completed within 24 hours, subject to availability.
